We approve the design and the sustainability aspects are to be applauded. The main trees should be retained, and we hope those that are removed have suitable replacements

i) Siting; access and egress are not ideal, with the very tight layout of parking making manoeuvrability for turning cars almost impossible
ii) Quality of design is probably the worst this Society has seen for some time; it certainly should not be contemplated on this prominent site in this conservation area, or indeed anywhere. We recommend this be refused.

No doubt these measures are necessary for security purposes and to cut back on staffing, but it makes the station less accessible to pedestrians from Thorpe Road and Lower Clarence Road. It isn’t clear on the plan whether access is still possible to the public conveniences.
