There are many opportunities for volunteering at the Norwich Society from helping with events through the Now-And-Again group to full committee membership over a period of years. We have working groups, representatives on City bodies and forums, a structure of Officers and committees. The skills we need range from helping hands to experienced professional expertise.
Local Listing
At the minutes we are looking for people with an interest in old buildings and conservation to help with our survey of buildings outside the Conservation Areas that could be listed as of importance or interest. If you historical, local or specifically achitectural interest that would be a plus.
Events Companions
We need people who can act as stewards on walks and tours. Your role will be to carry a check list, welcome the members, ensure that any saftey measures or warnings are carried out, fill out a Risk Form, carry a mobile phone in case of emergencies, and generally support the tour guide and the members. you may also be required to ensure that catering carried out properly and tip the staff, if a meal is included.
Publications Group
Do you have any experience in publishing or writing for journals or books ? Copyeditor? picture research ? If you would like to be considered for our publications Group that oversees our newsletters and booklet production, please contact us.
Good exercise
Hand delivery
To reduce our postage bill we need hand deliverers in many areas of Norwich. We have three mailings a year . If you could hand deliver for your street or area, please contact us.
